Blue Jays, reliever Camp agree on $750,000 deal

Blue Jays, reliever Camp agree on $750,000 deal
TORONTO (AP) - Reliever Shawn Camp, who had filed for salary arbitration, and the Toronto Blue Jays agreed Saturday on a $750,000, one-year contract.

The Blue Jays have now reached deals with all of their arbitration-eligible players. General manager J.P. Ricciardi has never taken a player to a hearing since joining the team after the 2001 season.

The Blue Jays haven't gone to a hearing since failing to agree with Bill Risley in 1997.

Camp made $405,000 in 2008. He was looking for $950,000 and the team offered $700,000.

The 33-year-old righty was 3-1 with a 4.12 ERA in 40 relief appearances.
