NOTES
Jays RH Jason Frasor, who got a big strikeout in the ninth to end yesterday's game, has thrown a changeup to great effect this season. Frasor learned the pitch from bullpen coach Bruce Walton two years ago, and it is now breaking downward like a split-finger fastball. Frasor earned the save yesterday - the Jays' first of the season - and now has two strikeouts in 21/3 innings of work.
Yesterday's game was played under bright, sunny skies in Cleveland, a welcome change from Friday's steady drizzle that caused a delay lasting almost four hours. But the game-time temperature was 5C with gusting winds.
Jays starter Roy Halladay thought the pitchers had the advantage in those conditions.
"Basically, you're just trying to stay warm between innings, on the bench it felt cold," Halladay said. "But I've always felt the cold gave the advantage to the pitchers. Other than that, the cold doesn't change anything."
Yesterday's victory assured the Jays of a series win in this three-game set with the Tribe. Toronto has not won a series in Cleveland since 2003.
2B Aaron Hill and SS Marco Scutaro have hit safely in every game so far this season.
