Hill leaves game after collision
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Toronto second baseman Aaron Hill was injured Thursday after a hard collision with shortstop David Eckstein in the seventh inning against the Oakland Athletics.

The team called it a mild concussion as is standard procedure with a head injury but said it wasn't considered serious and listed Hill as day to day. He expected to be available to play in Friday night's series opener against the Angels in Anaheim.

Hill was down and held his head for several minutes as Toronto's training staff examined his head and teeth before he walked off the field on his own. He and Eckstein both ran sideways on a high popup in shallow center by Rob Bowen that fell for a single and Eckstein's elbow hit Hill in the jaw.

"He pulled a good one on me," Hill said. "I haven't been hit that hard in a while. Fun trip - I fouled a ball off my face. No need for a day off. I'll just be a little sore."

He was replaced by Joe Inglett.
