After making $640,000 last year, Tallet asked last month for $1.3 million in arbitration and was offered $950,000.
Right-hander Shawn Camp is the only Blue Jays player still in arbitration. The team has not gone to a hearing since right-hander Bill Risley in 1997.
Also Thursday, the Blue Jays claimed right-hander T.J. Beam off waivers from Pittsburgh and designated infielder Russ Adams for assignment.
Beam was 2-2 with a 4.48 ERA in 32 relief appearances for Pittsburgh in 2008. Drafted by the New York Yankees in 2003, he reached the major leagues in 2006 and went 2-0 with an 8.50 ERA in 20 games. Beam joined the Pirates as a free agent in December 2007.
Adams was Toronto's first-round pick in the 2002 draft, making him the first player drafted by Toronto general manager J.P. Ricciardi. Adams, who did not play for Toronto in 2008, has a .248 career average with 17 home runs and 113 RBIs in 278 games.
