Toronto Blue Jays Inside Pitch 2009-04-27
Not in their wildest dreams did anyone in the Blue Jays organization envision such a great start to their season.

By virtue of their 4-3 victory Sunday in Chicago over the White Sox, the Jays moved to 14-6 and won a series of three games or more for the sixth straight time this year. That ties the club record set in 2001.

It also is the first time in club history that the Jays have opened a season by winning three consecutive series on the road (2-1 at Cleveland, 3-1 at Minnesota and 2-1 at Chicago).

The Jays will be looking to extend their streak when they open a four-game series Monday at Kansas City.

BLUE JAYS 4, WHITE SOX 3: RHP Roy Halladay improved to 4-1 this year and won for the first time in three career decisions (over five starts) at U.S. Cellular Field. The win also evened his career mark against the White Sox at 4-4. Over seven innings Sunday, Halladay allowed three runs on three hits, walked one and struck out six. 3B Scot Rolen snapped a 3-3 tie in the eighth with an RBI single to left.
