"I think we always felt we had the talent," Halladay said Wednesday after a 13-1 rout of the Angels. "Over the years, guys have put up good numbers. We just never seemed to have everybody going at the same time.
"It's been there. It's just a matter of everybody getting going at once."
The Jays certainly had that in Wednesday's victory. Every player in the Toronto lineup had at least one hit and scored a run. The Jays now lead the majors through 30 games in runs scored (189), hits (327), extra-base hits (114), total bases (524) and batting average (.297).
With so many of the Jays' pitchers injured, the offense has been key, Halladay said.
"There's no question that's been the reason we're where we are," he said.
BLUE JAYS 13, ANGELS 1: RHP Roy Halladay joined Royals RHP Zach Greinke as the first six-game winners in the majors this season. The Jays sent 16 batters to the plate in the first two innings and staked Halladay to a 7-0 lead before he even gave up a hit. He went eight innings in the victory, holding a hot-hitting Angels team to just six hits in that time.
