--With Thursday's win, the Jays moved four games above .500 at 30-26. They had not been more than three games over .500 since they finished the '07 season with a 83-79 record. The Jays have won seven of their past eight and 13 of their last 17 games.

--2B Aaron Hill suffered a mild concussion Thursday when he collided with SS David Eckstein in the seventh inning. Hill got elbowed in the jaw. "He got me pretty good," Hill said. "I haven't been hit that hard in a long time." Hill said he doesn't expect to miss any time.

--With Thursday's victory, manager John Gibbons collected win No. 300 since he became manager of the Jays in August 2004. "I wasn't even aware of that," Gibbons said. "It's not something I've ever thought about. You start out in this job and you don't really know how long it's going to last." Only Cito Gaston (681) and Bobby Cox (355) have managed more Toronto wins than Gibbons.

--With the victory Wednesday night, RHP Roy Halladay passed LHP Jimmy Key for third spot on the Jays' all-time win list with 117. RHP Jim Clancy is second with 128 wins, while RHP Dave Stieb holds the franchise record with 175.

--With the win Thursday, the Jays improved to 19-9 in May. The Jays' best May ever occurred in 2003, when they went 21-8.

BY THE NUMBERS: 3 -- Grand slams the Jays had hit this month, through May 25. RF Brad Wilkerson hit the latest one with a slam Saturday versus the Royals. Earlier in the month, DH Matt Stairs (May 14) and C Rod Barajas (May 17) hit slams.
