--OF Brad Wilkerson raised his season batting average from .213 to .226 with his 3-for-5 night at the plate Friday. He had struggle to a .206 average (7-for-34) in his previous 10 games.

--3B Scott Rolen is adjusting quite well to the American League after playing his previous 13 years in the NL. He is hitting .306 in his first 33 games with the Blue Jays after getting traded in the offseason for Troy Glaus.

--2B Marco Scutaro has raised his overall batting average to .273 by going 8-for-20 in his last five games. Scutaro is a career .260 hitter.

--1B Lyle Overbay snapped out of a 1-for-15 mini-slump in his previous four games to go 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs Friday night, driving in three. He hit .267 in April but has hit .297 in May.

--RHP Dustin McGowan has won each of his last two starts and the Blue Jays have gone 3-1 in his last four starts. He has given up eight earned runs in 24 innings over those four outings. McGowan won for the first time in seven road starts this season.

BY THE NUMBERS: 3 -- Grand slams the Jays had hit this month, through May 25. RF Brad Wilkerson hit the latest one with a slam Saturday versus the Royals. Earlier in the month, DH Matt Stairs (May 14) and C Rod Barajas (May 17) hit slams.
