--SS Marco Scutaro led off with a walk Tuesday, marking the 11th time he has led of an inning with a free pass in 102 plate appearances this season. Scutaro has 21 walks this season, one behind Boston's Jason Bay, the major league leader.

--RHP Jesse Litsch got a clean bill of health after being examined Monday by Dr. James Andrews. "Good news," said manager Cito Gaston. "Jesse is going to Florida now for a couple of weeks where he'll throw on flat ground. If there are no additional problems (with his right forearm) we expect to have him back with us in three weeks or a month."

--The Jays are the lone team in the majors to have not lost two consecutive games all season.

--CF Vernon Wells moved up on the club's all-time list in a couple of categories last week. On Wednesday, Wells hit his third homer of the season (No. 180) to move past Jesse Barfield and into fourth place on the club's all-time list. Sunday, Wells scored the 642nd and 643rd runs of his career, passing George Bell for fourth on that list.

BY THE NUMBERS: 12 -- Position players on the Jays' roster who have hit at least one home run this season. The only one who hasn't hit one is backup SS John McDonald.
